SUSIE FREEMAN
A well-respected British textile artist, Freeman has a MA in Textiles from the Royal College of Art. Although her garments and accessories are mostly decorative, she has explored the philosophical/sociological aspects of illness versus well-being in an extensive installation, entitled "Pharmacopeia," in Cradle to Grave, at the British Museum, for which she used pills and pill-casings as inserts within the "pockets" of her knitted mesh fabrics. Her work is included in many British public collections, including The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Crafts Council, Gallery of English Costume, and Kwangju Textile Museum in South Korea.
