LOUIS VELASQUEZ
A well-rounded artist with degrees in sculpture (BFA, Cooper Union), interior design and wax model-making, Velasquez currently creates jewelry assembled from his own computer-generated, digitally-printed images mounted in industrial plastic scraps. He has worked professionally designing interiors, wallpaper and tradeshow installations, as well as painting commissioned portraits. In addition to his place in Julie: Artisans’ Gallery’s stable of artists, for the past ten years Velasquez has worked full-time there. He has realized much distinction in his eclectic career, including the Vena T. Carroll Award for Achievement in Several Media.
