LINDA MENDELSON

A complex system of shape, color, pattern and texture guide the forms and surfaces of Mendelson’s loom-knit cardigans and scarves, along with catchy references to popular culture in the form of literature, song lyrics, poetry or common phrases.

She fuses modernity and historicism like no other textile artist, possessing an iconic love for New York City, to which she has paid tribute since she began working almost forty years ago. Mendelson's pieces are in many public collections, including the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
